Dr. Rodrigo Zapata is a Full Professor of Medicine and hepatologist at Clínica Alemana and the Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile. He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and pursued an advanced clinical fellowship in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at the University of Southern California. His clinical and research interests focus on liver cirrhosis, liver transplantation, and viral and autoimmune hepatitis, and he has authored more than 85 peer-reviewed publications and 18 book chapters. He has served as President of both the Chilean Hepatology Association and the Chilean Society of Gastroenterology, and currently coordinates the liver transplant interest group of the Latin American Association for the Study of the Liver (ALEH).
