Dr. Marta Tejedor Bravo is a Transplant Hepatologist, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinic Director of the James A. Clifton Digestive Health Center at the University of Iowa Health Care. She completed fellowship training in liver transplantation at Saint James’s University Hospital in Leeds and holds a PhD from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her clinical expertise includes pre- and post-liver transplant care, advanced cirrhosis and portal hypertension, hyponatremia in cirrhosis, and viral hepatitis. Her academic work focuses on liver transplantation, transplant allocation and equity, MELD-based prognostic models, portal hypertension, and complications of advanced liver disease. Her doctoral research described a novel animal model of recurrent intermittent hyponatremia. She is actively involved in international clinical research and collaborative academic networks and has published extensively in hepatology and liver transplantation.
