Dr. Thibbotumunuwe Arachchillage Chathura Lakmal Piyarathna is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based at the Department of Gastroenterology, Teaching Hospital, Kandy, Sri Lanka. He holds fellowship of both the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and London, and completed advanced clinical fellowships in gastroenterology and endoscopy at Addenbrooke's Hospital, University of Cambridge and Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London. His clinical interests encompass therapeutic endoscopy, hepatology including liver transplant care, inflammatory bowel disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. He is an active researcher, educator, and council member of the Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology and the Sri Lanka Society of Gastroenterology.
