Dr Bilal Bobat is a Transplant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist based at the Liver Transplant Unit of Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he serves as Head of Transplant Hepatology. He holds a Fellowship of the College of Physicians and a Certificate in Gastroenterology, and serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School. Dr Bobat is an active member of several international liver disease organisations, including the International Liver Transplant Society and the International Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Study Group, and serves as principal investigator for PSC-Africa.
