Professor of Hepatology · Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences D-1 Vasant Kunj · New Delhi, India
Dr. Rakhi Maiwall is a hepatologist and clinician-scientist with expertise in advanced liver disease, acute-on-chronic liver failure, and complications of cirrhosis. Explore the evolving spectrum of kidney dysfunction in cirrhosis—from acute kidney injury (AKI) to chronic kidney disease (CKD)—and its implications for clinical management and patient outcomes.
Kidney dysfunction is a frequent and clinically significant complication of cirrhosis. In this INEDSYS session, Dr. Rakhi Maiwall will examine the trajectory of renal dysfunction across the AKI-CKD spectrum, highlighting its recognition, progression, clinical implications, and impact on outcomes. The session will provide a practical framework for understanding renal dysfunction in patients with advanced liver disease.
