Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a leading cause of chronic liver disease, closely linked to obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Effective management demands a structured, evidence-based approach centered on early identification, risk stratification, and targeted intervention.
This talk covers best practices in MASH management — including non-invasive tools for fibrosis assessment and identifying patients at highest risk for progression. It examines lifestyle intervention as the foundation of therapy, with practical strategies for sustainable weight loss and metabolic improvement, alongside the evolving role of pharmacologic agents, including recently approved and emerging therapies.
The session also addresses comorbidity management — particularly diabetes and cardiovascular disease — and surveillance for cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Using a case-based approach, attendees will leave with a practical, guideline-driven framework for delivering patient-centered care.
